Dark Color Theme for Aptana / Eclipse by NightLion
April 25th, 2009 at 2:06 pm by Vinny
For anyone out there that uses Eclipse or Aptana as their software development IDE, I found a great color theme replacement. The “Green Chaud” color theme is a light on dark theme, which is easier on the eyes than the standard theme.
Download it here: http://gueschla.com/labs/green-chaud/
Update: The Green Chaud color theme seems to no longer be available. Instead, check out NightLion’s Aptana 2.0 color theme.

I’ve recently created a new Aptana Dark Color theme using Green Chaud & ZenBurn for inspiration. Please check it out:

Has this been taken down?
I needed a dark theme. I have been using Komode because it has the theme I need so that my eyeballs dont pop out of my head by the end of the day.
Thank you for the post. It is what I am looking for. This one is just not avail any longer. :/
I guess it was taken down. I will update the post. In the meantime, you should check out the NightLion aptana theme. It’s very similar, but in my opinion, a little nicer.

What setting controls the area with the folding controls? I can’t seem to find the correct location to set this. So for the dark theme I’m putting together I get a white area there…
Problem with all dark themes on Eclipse so far:
onclick=”switchForm_{ELEMENT_NAME}();return false;”
i.e. any text inside quotes will stay black.. which sucks for dark themes. Eclipse doesn’t seem to allow one to change the basic default colour for text inside edit windows.
